Associate Professor Dato’ Haji Mohd Mokhtar Shafii, DIMP (CHAIRMAN)
Assoc. Prof. Dato’ Haji Mohd Mokhtar was appointed as the Shariah Committee of OCBC Bank (M) Berhad since 30 September 2003 and later as Shariah Committee Chairman in June 2005. He is currently a freelance speaker on Islam.. He graduated with Bachelor of Arts with honours in Islamic studies from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He also holds Master in the same area of specialization. Having the experience as the Dean of Centre for Fundamental Knowledge at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for 7 years, he was also at the same period between 1983 to 1989, a Senate Member at the said university. He is also currently a part-time lecturer at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Assoc. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Mokhtar has written many books and articles on various subjects such as Islamic monotheism theory and practical (Usuluddin), Islamic history, Quranic exegesis (Tafsir) and Islamic jurisprudence. He is also the existing member of Majlis Fatwa in Selangor, Pahang and several Islamic institutions in Malaysia. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Shariah Committee of Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd and EXIM Bank Malaysia.

Professor Dr. Abdullah @ Alwi Haji Hassan
(SC Member)
Prof. Dr. Abdullah @ Alwi has served as a member of Shariah Committee of OCBC Bank (M) Berhad since 30 September 2003 and later OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad. He graduated with the Higher Certificate and Diploma of Education from the Muslim College of Malaya in 1969 and 1970 respectively. In 1971, he obtained a B.A.(Al-`Aliyah) in Islamic Law from the University of Al-Azhar, Cairo, Egypt. In 1979, he graduated with M.Phil.(Law) from the University of Kent, England, United Kingdom. In 1986, he obtained his Ph.D. in Islamic Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Until his retirement in 2006, he held various academic and administrative posts at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. His last administrative post at the same University was the Head of Shariah and Economy Department, Academy of Islamic Studies. From September 2006 until July 2009, he was appointed as a Professor of Islamic Law at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is currently a Professor at the School of Management, Asia e University (AeU), Kuala Lumpur since October 2008.
Professor Dr Abdullah is the author of an Islamic commercial book titled Sales and Contracts in Early Islamic Commercial Law. He also wrote many academic articles and books especially in his expertise which are Islamic Transaction Law, Islamic Wealth Management and Takaful. At present, he serves as Chairman of the Shariah Committee of American Takaful International Sdn Bhd (AIG Group) since 2009 and as a member of boards of studies and as an assessor for the exercise of promotion to the posts of associate professorship and professorship in various public and private universities in Malaysia.

Associate Professor Dr. Mahamad Arifin
(SC Member)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahamad has been in service as a Shariah Committee member of OCBC Bank (M) Berhad and later OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad since 1 April 2005. After completing his first degree in Shariah from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), he pursued his Ph.D in Islamic jurisprudence in Scotland. He has been lecturing at Faculty of Laws of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) which is later known as IIUM Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) since 1984 until present. He was the previous Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs) of the said Faculty or Kulliyyah for 4 years.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahamad has vast experience in advising various Islamic institutions for the past 8 years. He also specializes in Islamic family matters, Islamic law of transactions, Islamic administrative law and Islamic jurisprudence. He also currently serves as a Shariah Committee member of Great Eastern Takaful which commenced its business in 2010.
Associate Professor Dr. Wan Sabri Wan Yusof

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Sabri was appointed as Shariah Committee of OCBC Al-Amin in June 2011. He holds a Ph.D and Master of Arts from Temple University, USA (specialized in Comparative Religion). He also holds a Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (IRKH) (specialized in Tafsir) and Bachelor of Economics from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
He is a member of the teaching staff at Department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion, IRKH, IIUM, holding the position of Associate Professor. His main areas of interest are concept of religion, comparative religion and ethics. He had published numerous articles among others monograph on prominence Muslim scholars in this region and tafsir (exegesis).
Assoc. Prof. Dr Wan Sabri also currently serves as a Shariah Committee member of Great Eastern Takaful. Prior to that, he was a Shariah Committee member for Southern Bank Berhad, CIMB Islamic and Alliance Bank.
Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Naim Omar. (SC Member)
Asst. Prof. Dr Muhammad Naim was appointed as Shariah Committee of OCBC Al-Amin in June 2011. He holds a Ph.D from University of Wales, United Kingdom (specialized in the Islamic Transaction Law), MA (Shariah Law) from Cairo University and BA (Hons. in Shariah Law) from University of Azhar, Egypt.
He is currently a member of teaching staff at Department of Islamic Law, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as an Assistant Professor and his area of interest among others covers Islamic Law of Transaction, Islamic Legal System and Islamic Jurisprudence.
Asst. Prof. Dr Muhammad Naim had presented and published numerous articles and papers on many subjects especially in his areas of interest which are Islamic Transaction Law, Islamic Wealth Management and Islamic Law of Contract.
Asst. Prof. Dr Muhammad Naim also currently serves as a Shariah Committee member of Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd.
